| A player should look to push himself to play at the highest level he can. SWP had a chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, play in the CL, win medals, play with some of the best players in the world, establish himself as an England international and earn millions as well. Apart from the vast amount of cash it hasn't quite worked out for him.
I was gutted when he left City, but I know if I was him I'd have done the same. He knew what he was doing, he isn't a kid, and he knew there was a chance it wouldn't work out. He may yet establish himself as a Chelsea regular. Jose hasn't written him off yet and he has got back into the England squad.
The bottom line is he had a lot of potential and he wasn't going to realise it at City.

The bottom line is he had a lot of potential and he wasn't going to realise it at City. But he was never going to have that chance really was he. I think it is generally accepted now that Jose was never interested in playing him, it was all about wiping out the competition. As for making his own mind up, i think he was ill advised but of course at the end of it he is an individual and must make his own decisions. I can also say with some confidence that SWP has told Micah he doesn't regret it...and when Chelsea made their bid in the summer (which they did) SWP advised him to move
