Truth is Sven was our best England manager for decades and got vilified by the press. Yes he made some mistakes but what manager doesn't. Mainly he had bad luck with Rooney and Owen getting injured and players who, yet again, failed to step up to the plate when it was needed. Who do our media blame? Our brave "English lads" or Johnny Foreigner who shags all our birds? The rest is history and we "have to have an English coach" so in the absence of anyone else it goes to McClaren. Christ, Pearce was a candidate as well and looking at the under 21's is like watching City last season ie clueless in midfield creativity. Basically we are victims of the FA pandering red top xenophobic racism. Valid points Cloudy and I agree totally. I'd also like to add that England are not as good as we like to think we are. We have a handful of truely world class players but other than that, nowt special. Where we lack in quality you'd hope we'd make up, (ala Greece in 2004), in organisation and effort. Not so. I think we need to get to grips with the fact that where we stand in the FIFA rankings is about bloody spot on. You think that England deserves to be so highly ranked following so many piss poor performances? Norn Irn would give that bunch of jokers a stuffing.

| | For me McClown is a complete and utter nob-jockey. Micah had a brilliant first half, but it started to go wrong the moment we scored. Suddenly, Beckham decided that he was getting out-shone by Micah bombing past him, so he decided to firstly stop passing to him, instead electing for a Hollywood pass, then leaving the right flank to Micah and go a wandering over to the left. Why didn't McClown notice this, reign him in and tell him to stay doing what had created the goal? Second half - McClown - instead of thinking "I need to see what Micah is like at CB" keeping him at RWB and putting that useless ginger twat Brown alongside the other shite defender in the centre. Like he really needs to see if Micah can play at CB, after the 3 games he's watched him this season! I must admit, Micah for me looked totally disinterested in the second half, almost deflated that he couldn't be let loose on their left back again. Maybe he was feeling that knock, but he was slumbering around looking bored as shit. No output from the right, meant that everything now was reverted to a long diagonal ball, that nobody won, and if Crouch when he came on won it, nobody was within 20 yards of him. If I was Defoe, I'd be fucking gutted. Smith - shite Owen - not fit Beckham - injured Cole - looks guranteed left midfield spot Dyer - as said, wank. Lampard - good finish and worked a bit harder than I have seen him before, but still, needs world class players around him to shine Carrick - well fuck me, if the utd fans think he's shite, then that performance cemented for me how shite he really is. Shorey - adequate cover, but shit crosser SWP - did well when he came on, but left wing??????????? Let's face it - McClown has no idea what he's doing. As soon as things go against us, instead of looking at it and thinking right, I need to do this, he leaves it until the whole shape of the squad has gone to shit, then makes 3 subs and plays them out of position. Wanker! As for Robinson - my oh my, Spurs fans must be worried. He's lost all his confidence. Bright side for us is that Lehman was equally wank. Shoot shoot shoot for Saturday.
