The FA have turned England and Wembley into a fucking 100% corporate entertainment product.

| | i was saying last night to my flatmate that even though friendlies aren't important you have to play them like a real game, try things out and prepare for the real games. for instance: if joe cole got injured instead of subbed off last night what would you have done? well there is a left footed player on the pitch already, so move him to the wing, maybe bring becks into the middle and tell lampard to stop going forward as much, put SWP on the right. use the flanks to whip balls into crouch. or bring dyer back into midfield and stick defoe on. what i wouldn't do is put swp on the left, leave beckham on the right so swp can do all the running and beckham can start his hollywood ball action (you could really tell how tired he was last night too). there were so many options at that point in the game it was ridiculos. also, it can't be doing johnson, defoe, bent any good when they see dyer getting played up front ahead of them, he's tried it in a couple of games now (i think it's because rafa tried it once or twice with gerrard and crouch last season) and it clearly doesn't work. anyway, if i were english today i'd be absolutly livid. luckily, i'm irish and we hammered the shite out of denmark away.

| Anyone else a bit worried that Micah could have picked up a knock last night? He went off for treatment after the goal, but all the way through the game you saw glimpses of him rubbing his right knee. Fingers crossed he's OK.

I heard that. You would have to say Micah is now unsellable from Sven's and City's perspective?

DEUTSCHLAND!!!!
Joking aside, i predicted a defeat. What a joke of a team. No wonder Sven doesn't buy any 'home' players, as they want to much money for too little talent. That was a heavily weakened Germany side too. Lumpit was his usual selfish, disappearing self. Apart from the goal (which he'll probably go on about for the rest of his life), he did FA. Dyer? Aptly named. Joe Cole was the best player, but again overdoes everything. Carrick? What position does he play and add to a team? Owen- Just come back from a long term injury. Robinson - the less said the better. At least richards can hold his head high, unlike the rest of that overpaid shower. England doesn't deserve to qualify for Euro2008 with a performance like that. At least they can all be happy with the size of their overinflated pay packets. He did as much as he usually does. Scored a deflection and FA else. And yet every 'pundit' and commentator on the BBC last night thought he had a good game. Things will never get better for England whilst we continue to be told how good limited players like Lampard are, and whilst people behind the scenes pull the strings. Oh, and whilst McClown is still manager. What a useless twat he is.
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say |

Oh, and whilst McClown is still manager. What a useless twat he is. Why do we have to accommodate these so called big names? Even when they're either injured or half fit? Lawro said last night that for the Israel game Lampard should be dropped, and we should go with Gerrard and Hargreaves, for once the twat makes sense. These big name players aren't getting any younger either. If we were to have enjoyed success with the likes of Lampard, Beckham, Owen etc, it should have been 4 or 5 years ago, it's too bloody late. I'd look to get ourselves into Euro 2008 and then use it as a platform to rebuild a new England. Won't happen mind.

| | Truth is Sven was our best England manager for decades and got vilified by the press. Yes he made some mistakes but what manager doesn't. Mainly he had bad luck with Rooney and Owen getting injured and players who, yet again, failed to step up to the plate when it was needed. Who do our media blame? Our brave "English lads" or Johnny Foreigner who shags all our birds? The rest is history and we "have to have an English coach" so in the absence of anyone else it goes to McClaren. Christ, Pearce was a candidate as well and looking at the under 21's is like watching City last season ie clueless in midfield creativity. Basically we are victims of the FA pandering red top xenophobic racism.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |
