This whole Madonna adoption thing is making my blood boil. To me it is just a sick PR stunt to make her seem like some sort of humanitarian queen. Well, it doesn't. For me what she's done is tantamount to kidnapping. What other reason is there for her to want to adopt a Malawian child other than publicity? OK, so you could argue that if the adoption goes ahead this child will have a better life but what about all of the other orphans? Surely if she wanted to help the best course of action would be to provide the orphanage with new medical facilities, sanitation etc... thus helping all of the orphans there have a better life.

Or am I just being overly cynical?

Absolutely right. Interesting when you hear that other 'normal' parents want to take on African children take sometimes years to authorise and organise. Whole thing smacks of Madonna finishing her tea on her Regents Park balcony and turning to Guy and saying 'yaaawwwn, what am I gonna do today...I know!! I'll adopt, I mean WE'LL adopt an african kid today and it will look like an act of philanthropy as well. Yay!'

Bet she paid a pretty penny to the authorities as well, they would have seen her coming. Cunt.

PR or not, it's totally out of order that the rules have been circumnavigated because of who she is.

On a positive note, hopefully this little lad will have a far better chance in life rather than rotting in an orphanage.

Yes, but as I said, if it really was a humanitarian decision, she would have provided facilities for the orphanage to help everyone there. As I said, it just stinks of PR.

Yeah if she truly gave a fuck, selflessly, she could afford a hospital/school for the region. Then even I would have commended her.

Do you really? Well done you. I take it you're not planning a trip to Armenia to kidnap sorry, adopt the child?

Nah, but I sent her some paper and coloured pencils. You know, something the whole village can enjoy
