| | Will be away in the January window according to the rumour mill yesterday. Badly need a good replacement imo.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| Absolutely paramount. You cant mess around at the back, I think Nedum is not quite ready yet.
Not sure who we'd get in either considering: A) who is available? B) How much do we have to spend?

| | There seems to be some competition for Distin but obviously his contracted is nearly over so we won't get much. £4/5m maybe. Even if all that was available we wouldn't get a like fo rlike replacement at that price. Maybe this could prompt the Board to come up wth a suitable "re-signing on fee" that encourages him to stay without upsetting the pay structure too much?

| Hold on...if his contract is over, we get NOWT for him. Which would be an almighty cluster fuck and one I would forever hate Distin for.
Hope this does not happen. Actually I just want the guy to stay.

Cluster fuck. Quality phrase.

| Losing Distin would be a major blow. Especially to the kind of clubs that are reported to be after signing him

| | Distin is out to line his pockets which is why he turned down the move to Middlesbrough. Leaving in Jan or on a free will save someone 2-4 million which he will expect to receive a chunk of in his salary. SP's problem is as has been stated, Dunne and Distin are a good partnership and shouldn't be broken up. But SP should be playing Richards or Onuoha alongside Dunne in every training session and if Distin doesn't go in Jan, then when we're safe he should be dropped or moved out to LB to allow the new partnership to play together. I don't think we're short on options, but we are short on experienced options. |
