| Lee Cook has given his cash-strapped former club QPR a major boost by handing over his £250,000 signing-on fee at Fulham as a parting gift. (The Sun)
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| | Good for him, it's a really nice gesture that restores a bit of faith in footballers. Now compare and contrast with this story: In these days of overpaid prima-donnas cruising around, 'merking' people in their Baby Bentleys, showing a general disregard for normal, civil behaviour and with absolutely no grasp on reality, it's nice to hear a story that makes you think again about footballers.
Unfortunately, there is none of that here, as the Star reports this morn that Michael Ballack has told Chelsea that he will move to Real Madrid, but only if they pay for it.
And the reason for the German's sudden poverty? Real are only offering him £91,000-a-week. The poor lamb.
We all know how expensive removal firms can be, and they're bound to break a few things, so you can understand why Michael is calling in the favours.
