| Danny's Studs (12/02/2008) That might be my next book, thanks Cloudy.
Tinker, Tailor Jeebus...I have read nearly all of Le Carré's books, I am a fan, but this wasnt one of my favourites. Found it long and slow in honesty. A Perfect Spy and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold are excellent. LC can also be a little verbose at times, other time pitch perfect but sometimes he takes a long arse way of saying fuck all. Perhaps I can find an example.I only wanted to read this one cuz it's loosely based on the story of the cambridge five during WW2.
Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany! |

Good thus far. Kind of statty, so it's likely to be a winner for me.

He predicts a premeirship football crash in 2010. From back cover (not finished it yet):
"The season which historians will regard as the blackest on football history; attendances below the black days of the 1980's, England failing to qualify for tournaments (hmmmm) and established Premiership teams going into administration and even ceasing to exist"

I can see a restructuring coming. Whether its as early as 2010 though...? I can see a break away, a european super league coming, and a separate english league without the big4 or 5, or whoever it is at the time. I can definitely see that happening.

I think it may all turn out to be Spurs' fault too. As a club vying for the top 4 without huge wealthy foreign ownership.

I mean, in the last few years they must have spent close to what Leeds spent that sent them over the edge. They must have huge debts.

Okay great Jeebus, but leave to me, I'll ask; What do you think of the book?

Not enjoying this at all.
Me and sci-fi just don't get on.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| And why would it Cloudy? Sci-fi has same effect on me, bores heck out of me.
This one however is a thoroughly enjoyable read;
