My mates theory (who's not on this forum, so) my theory.

I'm 26, say on average I read maybe 12-15 books a year. I die at maybe 70 (if I'm lucky) that's 44 x 15 = 660.

I may read 660 books more in my lifetime, don't waste time on crap books because you are basically limited to how many you read. When you're struggling through a book think "The time I spend on this book is to the detriment of a better one that I may never get to read because of this piece of shit". Don't valiantly struggle through. Be the bigger man and give it up. get a book you enjoy. Not Mills and Boon though, that is gay

And I wish I'd never read American Psycho.

Very well put cooder. I think it's liberating to get to a point in life where you can say, 'this book is crap, I'm not perservering with this because everyone else said it's excellent'.

Get shut and find a goodun.

i'll let you know how it goes.

Don't wanna hear about the book though. Like Heart of Darkness, fucking hate that book, and in truth, Apocolypse Now is a boring piece of shit. I know it's not cool to say that, but my first thought after watching it was "thank fuck I've seen that so now I can say I've seen it" Never want to watch it again.
