so i'm on to the journey to the centre of the earth now. charlotte's web will have to wait.

Not read TGGatsby.

Charlottes Web, how'd you miss that one? A real tear jerker (for 9 year olds).

i didn't miss it, just never owned it. so now i do.

i've just found the best book shop ever, like a real second hand book store. smells like books, big piles of books in no order at all. i asked the bloke if he had any idea where i'd find brave new world (got one now cloudy) and he pointed in a vague corner, after an hour i'd found around six books but not that one. the next time i went in he said that he deffo had a copy and he'd find it. so the next time he brought it from his own bookcase at home and tried to not charge me for it. it was a very english moment, 'no no no, i must give you some money for it' 'no i really can't' 'but i must'. it was ... well.. nice.

Benny, well done.

Paddy, no and no. Done my 'classics' phase, now just interested in reading books which captivate me.

JTTCOE - find a map, go to iceland, find a hole, go down it, kid gets seperated, nearly suffocates in the darkness, regroup. Probably meet some monsters down there I don't even care.

you could do that with any book though. LOTR. finds ring, finds out its bad, needs to get rid, meets some monsters, gets rid of the ring.

Good synopsis, but that's a good read. I just can't get into Verne (hur hur). Read others: Wind in the Willows, Treasure Island, King Solomon's mines (great book) etc but just don't like him
