| Yes, once he admitted it, I suppose they did have to dish out some form of punishment, but from what I read the fact he 'pleaded guilty' helped make sure it was only a fine, not a ban. No wonder he was after a better contract though - he only gets to take home a fraction of his salary each year...

| It's a joke. £2k for dropping his shorts, it's almost beyond belief. It's ok though, whilst the FA have been busy pursuing justice at least they are letting the problem of cheats like Zakora continue...they really know what is good for the game don't they?

| After an impressive run of form Joey Barton is to be offered a place in the Welsh National Team.

| | Joey Barton has praised the FA's disciplinary committee who handed him a £2,000 fine for dropping his shorts after the Everton game. City's midfielder, speaking exclusively to mcfc.co.uk after the hour-long hearing at the FA's Soho Square headquarters, said: "I have had a fair hearing and would like to thank the FA for that. The backing I have received from the Sporting Chance charity, the PFA and Manchester City Football Club has been exceptional and I would like to thank them for that. "Sporting Chance, and the football club, have been with me all the way in recent times and I know I can count on them. "It has been a real boost to get so many letters and emails from Blues, both City and Everton fans, supporting me during this time. I have also had letters from fans of other football clubs showing solidarity. I regret what I did but am grateful to the FA for recognising the provocation I had to endure. "I am now looking forward and concentrating on preparations for Saturday's game against Sheffield United." |

| Our Tommy (10/10/2006) Do you think their might be a "special" goal celebration if he happens to net in the next couple of weeks.......................I am damn sure that when he scores against Everton in the home match, if Joey doesn't repeat his little show, half the crowd will do it for him for the benefit of those ridiclulous Everton whingers .....and match of the day.... |
