| | Hezbollah accused of war crimes So Amnesty International believes that Hezbollah are guilty of war crimes after firing rockets into civilian area of Israel? Israel killed almost 1000 Lebanese civilians in their attacks whereas 161 Israeli's (the majority of which were military casualties) died in the conflict I am not saying that I agree with the action initially taken by Hezbollah but you have to think, the Israeli's are holding hundreds of Lebanese and Palestinian people (both military and civilian) without trial for crimes which they may not have committed During the conflict, Israel deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure and even threatened to destroy any large goods traffic on the roads, even if they were ambulances, UN vehicles or Red Cross aid vehicles. All of these actions are against UN law Sorry to be so political first thing in the morning but I am sick to death of the support given to Israel by the Western governements

| To be fair to Amnesty, they have accused both sides. I agree that one side is seemingly far more in breach of UN law than the other, but I don't think Amnesty concerns itself with the extent of the crimes committed, only that they have happened at all. They have asked for both sides to be investigated. Unfortunately I think we all have our suspicions as to the outcome of any such inquiry.

I didn't think we'd be able to keep things serious on here for long...
