There is a common term for the 'English' in Germany (which has nothing to do with colour of skin).

They call us 'Island Monkies', just like the English call them Gerries and Krauts. I'm inclined to believe it was more likely that that term was being translated and being misunderstood by our black players. At least I hope that was the case!

We have Sturridge.

I hope that Sturridge does live up to the hype. From what I've seen so far on that Sky programme he has looked good rather than sensational.

I know not of this Sky programme of which you speak, however, I'm told Sturridge is very good and I prefer these days to play the optimist!

Yes its true, ive worked with Germans alot and they refer to us as Monkies from the Island, Its like us calling the french Frogs.

Being called an Island monkey is still an insult and Racist though, whether your black or white!! Similar to calling someone a Kraut, Frog, Dego, spick!!

Its not meant as a compliment, and not very nice
