Say you want about whether they should always play for their country for free...this is a good gesture

Just about to post that. I think it's great. Wonder how much had to do with that woman who tried to get every Premiership footballer to give up a day's wage and give the proceeds to nurses?

Everton were right twats about that, as werew Chelsea.

well done to them, though if i were playing fer my country i wouldn't expect to be paid fer it, just the pride of putting on an England shirt is enough to motivate me.

To be honest with you, I assumed players played for their country for free anyway. I had no idea they got paid for it. Fooking ridiculous. They ought to be proud. Unlike Bentley who's clearly a dickwad for pulling out of the U21's. I reckon that's his international career scuppered. Who remembers Chris Sutton? His refusal to play for England B ended his international career. (And Bentley took a place in the squad that Michael Johnson' would have died for. If I was MJ I'd be fucking furious.)

I also think the fact he was shit counted against him as well.

Players should have a choice to play for their country. I don't agree with Pearce saying you out your country before yourself. I personally would be more proud to pull on a City shirt in any game than an England shirt at a world cup or any of that.

Not there's any chance of any of it happening anyway!

The problem comes when he accepts the position on the squad and then pulls out. leaving Michael Johnson and others in the cold. That sucks. Bentley is a dick.

Different type of player though RW Vs DM.

Back to the point, excellent news about the charity!
