In fact, if i wanted to smoke or inject anything into my body, then it is no business of anybody, or any government to tell me otherwise.

I'd love to hear that argument in a court of law

Legalisation.

object of government is to basically look after the interests of it citizens

The object of any government is to basically look after it's own interests.

''the object of government is to basically look after the interests of it citizens but we have to be in power to do that because we are better for you than the other lot''

Roughly the same thing ???

Am I the only one concerned that someone in a position of responsibilty has just confessed to having taken drugs? Is his position as moderator untenable? Would it be ok if he told us he didn't inhale? We have the kids to think about.

And a governer as well .. tut tut tut.

Anything else hiding in the closet ?

Shut the fuck up chemist!!

I would tell them to go fuck themselves.  My body is my fuckin body.  No court of law tells me what to do with my body.  I will do whatever i please to it.  End of fuckin list.  My law.

It's strange how people react when crack etc are mentioned.  yet, tobacco and alcohol are far worse drugs, taken by far more people, killing far more people.  yet these are legal.  How???  Did the boat leave and i wasn't on it.  I don't get this.

Doh....tobacco and alcohol are worse than crack.... yeh right.....

Your argument is based on the premise that a small amount of damage done to a lot of people is much worse than an enormous amount of damage done to a few.  On that basis the ambulance service should forget heart attacks and concentrate on treating bruises ad paper cuts, the fire service should be making sure you put your ciggie out properly and the police should forget about murderers and concentrate upon people who turn a bit of shouty when they are drunk........ yep....you missed the boat big time......

The powers that be do not have a duty to protect me from myself.  If i decided to hang myself tomorrow then there is absolutely nothing that any fuckin government could do about it.
