Got to say, I agree 100% with what is being said here. When you sign up for the police, you are agreeing to serve the public in it's entireity, not to pick and choose. To say you wish to be reassigned because you feel "unsafe"? Everybody knows policing is a dangerous job

You sign up to do the job, you know the score, and you get on and do whatever you're told. End of.

Same goes for these families of dead troops killed in action in Iraq etc, spouting off to the press about how we should have never been there in the first place. Your sons joined the fucking army you twats!! What the fuck did you expect!!

No time for moral objections, as said before , you signed up to do your job, but....you wouldn't expect a policeman to go on raids say on the same estate in which he lived because of the potential for his recognition and retaliation against his family.  In this instance, as I understand it, he argued that the welfare of his family might be at risk if he was recognised by anti Israei demonstrators.  That does not seem quite so unreasonable?

As far as I can see, he just wanted to be moved because of the nationality of his wife and father It doesn't mention that he could be recognised. It seems much more of a moral objection rather than any considerations to the welfare of his family IMO

At the risk of upsetting some people let me say this;

Religion is for fuckwits. The various flavours of religion each preach to be pro-peace but it is the cause any number of wars throughout history and including today.

Its a hot topic for me at the moment as a mate of mine last night told me he donates 25% of his wage to the church. Yeah, cos they need it. He also has 10k of debt he should be paying off and he earns next to nowt. Fool. The priests (or whatever the correct term is) are all rubbing their hands together at sight of my mate and all the lambs who believe.

I dont try and convince 'believers' to become non-believers so why is it every time they always end up trying to convince me?

Well I felt I had to say it, sue there are people who disagree, so on you go.

Now now, DS. I disagree strongly with organised religion (especially the Catholic church) but I don't think you should go around calling people fuckwits for their beliefs

Well, I  have not read the newspaper, just heard the discussion on the radio where it was suggested that the guy was now quite happy to resume duties outside the Israeil embassy as any risk to the welfare of his family had now diminished...which suggests to me it was not a moral objection in the first place.

Not me.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

The risk had diminished? Because the Middle East is all tickety-boo now is it? Sounds more like he was threatened with disciplinary action and his morals suddenly disappeared to me

Alright Noddy I regret using the word 'fuckwit' and would now like to replace it with 'dopes'.
