BBC apparently reporting we will get the 2008 UEFA cup.....would be nice if we were there on the pitch as well but a nice vote of confidence in the stadium and a chance to impress the rest of Europe.....

A bit of dosh also, maybe?

Made me laugh that Wembley was rejected for both the 2008 and 2009 Chumps League finals. The selection committee obviously place about as much faith in Multiplex as the rest of us

Here's the rest of the article...

UEFA have announced this evening that the City of Manchester Stadium will host the 2008 UEFA Cup Final.

City were short listed with FC Hamburg’s Fussball Arena for the final, which will take place in May 2008.

UEFA also received bids from Fenerbache of Turkey, and Ramat-Gan of Israel.

We were the only club in it realy.

Fantastic news....european football at city! Hoo-rah! If there was ever an incentive for City to get into Europe this is it...i know it's so unlikely that they would get there but let's face it, if Middlesbrough can do it, the rest of us can dream.

I wish it was like the World Cup where whoever is hosting the final made the competition so we would automatically get into the UEFA Cup

Fantastic news!  This just highlights that it is one of the world's best stadiums and as well we should get a good bit of dosh hopefully

Maybe the FA should be a bit nicer to us, as we are saving their faces with the Wembly fiasco !!
