Miller future in doubt

ISHMAEL Miller is a summer target for two relegated clubs.

The Blues' powerhouse winger, who can also operate as a central striker, is on the wanted list at Championship side Watford and League One outfit Leeds United.

City would want around £1m for the 20-year-old Academy product, who has failed to make the expected impact on the first team since graduating from Platt Lane.

Despite the consistent problems down the left side of midfield, Miller has managed just three Premiership starts and 13 substitute appearances this season.

Injuries

He failed to take advantage of injuries to on-loan rival DaMarcus Beasley and managed only one full 90 minutes - against Bolton.

Beasley has since been allowed to go back to PSV Eindhoven and it may be that Miller will follow him out of the door.

Miller has seen former youth team colleagues Willo Flood (Cardiff), Bradley Wright-Phillips (Southampton) and Lee Croft (Norwich) all leave to further their careers.

Leeds, who are rebuilding after dropping to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history, want to bring in young, hungry players and Miller fits Dennis Wise's template.

While Miller may be forced to ponder his future with the Blues, half a dozen other youngsters have moved through the Platt Lane pipeline and will begin pre-season as fully fledged professionals.

Wouldn't be bothered to lose him. I know that would leave us with no left wingers and I would like to see him play at CF, but I wonder if he's just a fine physical athlete and little else.

A loan would still be best though, to make sure we aren't losing a big talent.

It's practically Christmas today!

I'd give him half a season on loan in the Championship, bring him back, see how he does, and decide his future at the end of next season instead.

Agree about loaning him first. He might just come good (fair bit of doubt though) and with his physique if he could lift his game to the next level he'd certainly be a handful
