| | Now, as most of you know I'm not Barton's biggest fan. But, after the abuse he took on Saturday about his brother he replied with a childish, but harmless show of the arse. The offence looked harmless enough on MOTD. The same fans that had been giving him dogs abuse for 2 hours suddenly come over all faint and demand police action. I hope Pearce looks at it and just gives him a clip round the ears

| If I were receiving abuse from scousers about my brother I'd have done more than bare my arse. Thought Joey did was showing composure and maturity by ONLY doing that.
Yes he's a celebrity and needs watch his what he says and does, yes his (half) brother was guilty, fact is if it was me? I'd defend my brother to the grave.
Course my brother has never been guilty of anything even remotely similar in severity but, fact remains.

| I'll never have to deal with any problems such as murder in my family, guess I was thinking this when I wrote my reply above so it was a bit of a 'saying nothing' post.
Not making light of what has happened, but by comparison this action from Joey is fairly mild by comparison.

| | How do all, Agree that this incident is a storm in a tea cup, FFS he only showed his cheeks, it's hardly the most offensive thing he could have done. Slap wrist don't do it again, £100 fine and enough said. I wonder if Barton had approached a police officer and made a complaint against a fan who had been verbally abusing him, would Merseyside police have investigated this as well? Seems to me as though the Police should keep out of football affairs, stop wasting tax payers money and start catching proper crooks.

| | Just out of interest, when a footballer gets fined where does the money go? Surely if it goes back in to the club we'd be half way towards being able to afford a decent left sided midfielder by now?

| They get fined by the FA so money goes straight into their pocket.

I meant when the club itself imposes a fine?
