Likewise, in the 70's they seemed to be on in a club/pub/bingo hall/phonebox near me every fucking night. No-one liked them, nobody went to see them except by accident. Crap then and crap now. Ditto Duran Duran btw.

Oasis

I might take issue on the Beatles, although they did produce a fair amount of dross, but Oasis lost it after the first album imho. They were better covering old Pistols songs before they became a Lennon tribute band.

Beatles produced a LOT of dross. Oasis just had nothing more to offer. Classic example of a band who only have enough tunes for one album. Attitude, not talent, is what sold the rest.
