| I've no need to defend myself. Where I come from football can be taken as Gaelic Football or Associated Football. Hence "Soccer".
However, that Tim "Soccer AM" Lovejoy has no excuse....

| Very well taken goal by Stevie Ireland. Shame the rest of the game was rather pap.
I don't think the pressure is going to leave Staunton and fear he and the team will be viewed as failures, since I just cannot see this team qualifying, which is a shame.
Dunne had his usual game, steady but with the odd gaff, which almost cost the team a goal. Lucky that Given was better to the ball than Bellamy.

| giokinkladze (25/03/2007) Im just glad that Ireland won so that 2nd rate manager and 1st rate pain in the arse with delusions of grandeur Roy Keane, had to shut his big gob!The irony of Keane's comments is that he stated Staunton and the FAI have an anti-Cork agenda, and yet the man carrying them for the last 2 games is Stephen Ireland, from Cobh, County Cork... |

| Went to the game on Saturday. It was fucking dire. Stevie Ireland saved the day but went off injured in the 2nd half. Richard Dunne was steady but was caught with his pants down by Bellamy. Given saved the day. Most of the "big names" (Duff, Keane etc) were quiet enough.
And if Distin jumps ship at the end of the season we should go in for McShane. No question.

| McShane plays for WBA. He broke into the ROI squad recently and has played very well - especially alongside Dunne. He is a big central defender, early 20s I think if not in his teens, and will soon be a premiership player one way or another. Hopefully with City.
