| Much as I dislike Beckham and the self-imposed media circus that surrounds him, I am all for the most in-form players to be picked. If he is currently the best English player in that position, then I suppose he should be picked even if it makes McClaren look a fool (again). If he isn't, he shouldn't be picked. Not really one for the future though, so it will be very disappointing if he is the best we can do at this time. Personally I'd prefer Aaron Lennon.

| Glossop blue (21/02/2007) After watching the Real v Bayern game last night i cannot see how Mc Laren can ignore him, he has proved capello wrong and forced his way back into the team and he now is banging right on the door of england again. With a tricky tie away against Israel coming up i think he should be picked for his experience alone, if he isnt i can see england losing and not qualyfying next year.A plan with no down sides, perfect.
