Bert, what are your qualifications in this area?  City promise that they won't automatically discard your application on account of your age...

After playing his part in helping successfully guide Manchester City into the last eight of the FA Cup, Tim Flowers has left the Club to assist the newly-appointed Coventry City manager, Iain Dowie.

Stuart Pearce paid tribute to the work done by the man known as 'Cat', saying: "As far as I’m concerned, in the past and now, Tim Flowers is the best goalkeeping coach in the country.

"We’re very, very disappointed to lose him, but he’s had the opportunity to join Coventry as assistant manager. It’s a step up from a scenario where he was purely a goalkeeping coach at our place and a very good one. He was a good member of staff and an absolute credit to the Football Club.

"I’m desperately sad to lose him, but I’ve got to respect his wishes and realise that it’s an opportunity for him. It’s the club he supported as a kid and is nearer his home having commuted everyday from down there.

"He just felt having spoken to him over a few days that it was an opportunity that he couldn’t turn down, even though we tried our best to keep him with us."

The Blues will now look to recruit a replacement for Flowers whether it be the short term until the summer or alternatively full time from now on and an announcement will be made in due course.

Keeper of the heretic's fork of doom.

Would love to see TC as our coach despite his defection. But more likley we will get Andy Dibble, he could teach Weaver and Isaakson how to cry when hit in the face with a football.

Good luck to Flowers, Always liked him as a player and seems a nice fella.

I gave Elano my Porsche and now I want it back!

Get John Burridge back! He was a proper nutter. I remember sitting behind the goal at the North Stand when he was a reserve at City and he entertained us all throughout the game with foul-mouthed stories about his past goalkeeping exploits.

Always thought Dibble was the worst kicker of a ball I'd ever seen in goal for City. I remember one match he found touch from goal kicks 4 times on the bounce. Isaakson could well take his crap at kicking crown though.

I thought he was awesome, especially at not realising Nottingham Forest players were still behind him.

Get Perry Suckling from Norwich. Worst name in football, ever.

I'd like us to get TC back too, but that's never gonna happen. Cant say I know much about any other GK coaches. So...??? fuck-knows.

Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany!
