| | lazy bastard journalists who continue to trot out the same sensationalist shite statistics. Almost every newspaper you read and every report you see on TV over the last few weeks has been spouting the same, yes numerically correct, bullshit stats.....13 losses from the last 16 games etc etc.But the basis of those stats coms from last season. At the end of last season our form was poor, especially away from home, but wasn't that on the back of stacks of injury's in a paper thin squad.Nothings changed there, in all honesty our summer signings were players in to replace players out.We still have to see anything like our strongest side. The reality IOM is somewhat different.ONLY the games from this season have any significance as far as I and form are concerned. Wednesday night was a disaster again but what's new in cup campaigns? Outside of that we have played ONLY Five games in the Premier League.Three away with an average of two goals conceded per game(crap admittedly). But the GOOD news is at home we STILL have to concede including a win over Arse and a clean sheet against the current leaders of the Premiership. In those five games we defiantly should have scored more goals,Christ knows we have created enough chances. An average of .6 goals per game isn't going to win the title thats for sure.Did we really expect too? Blackburn, Shef Utd.and Tottenham still have to score away from home. Arse, Liverpool and Bolton have only scored 1 each on their travels.Only 7 teams in the Prem have a positive goal difference.I could go on. I'm not saying I'm satisfied with our position, just that it's not as bad as it is painted by those who make a living by pushing headlines. This years title is already shaping up to be even tighter than last year. I do not fear relegation for us,there is a long way to go.And a top half finish still isn't imposible. Don't be a lemming by subscribing to their shite. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I desperately hope we win tomorrow and eventually win enough games to consign those stats to the history books.I am sure we will. Come on City.

Don't let the bastards grind you down.
I'm right behind you. I've been trying to state my positive attitude on these boards, but few seem to listen.
But tomorrows game will hopefully see a good crowd get behind there team, hopefully that will help the blues get a good win! |

| I think we all realise that we are in for a tough season. We are one of the 4 or 5 clubs who could go on a run and hit 7th ish or go the other way and hit 17th.
I see lots of panic around and I think we need to face up to the realism of the situation.
Pearce has had very little money to spend except on one major purchase aka Samaras. This player has talent but is young. He needs more time to adapt to the lifestyle/culture both on and off the pitch. The other signings have in premiership terms been done on a shoestring budget. We just don't have the cash at the minute and need to accept this.
The players brought in reflect our financial position. They are players who have some ability but don't have that little bit of quality that adds another £7MILLION upwards of £20 MILLION That the top 4 can buy.
We are having to go down the route of intergrating promising youngsters with experienced pros who have technical ability but lack that extra quality (Corradi is pace, Hamann is age, Dickov is an eye for a goal on a consistent basis etc etc)
If Pearce had £40 million to spend, the type of players we would be bringing in would reflect this and the team who be better in the short term.
I believe that if people stick with Pearce when he needs them most (now) then in time the rewards will come. Some of the younger players may have that quality (Richards, Sturidge) and will be needed to replace the likes of Distin and Barton if they go in January.
Sacking Pearce in my opinion would not solve the problems of the club. Only time and organisation will do that.
This is not another Alan Ball situation. Pearce has the players onside at the moment. We need a little luck to win a couple and repair damaged confidence in key areas of the team.
The team really needs the fans onside right now. Lets not go down the road of making the same mistakes of the past. We are still suffering from the last 20 odd years where the club wrote the book on how to destroy itself from within.
