| | Manchester City defender Micah Richards wants to join Chelsea but he could be forced to wait until the summer for his dream move. (Guardian) If true, obviously seeing SWP fail and now on the brink of joining a club facing Championship footy next season hasn't set any alarm bells ringing. Another greedy player?

ESM - can't see it myself. If Richards really wanted to move, then all he would need to do is get his agent to talk to Chelsea. They would cough up the money and City wouldn't refuse it in my opinion. £18m? I think City would let him go. More rumour-mongering during the transfer window - only more to come i suggest.

| | Another "cut and paste" story from the SWP period if you ask me East Stand. Lazy bastard journo's.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| "but it has become apparent that he wants to move to Stamford Bridge" Where the fuck has this come from? Micah hasn't said a word, infact he's said he's more than happy at City. Does my fucking head in.

| | I am just as worried about this part too !! Pearce is hoping to bring in at least two players, specifically a left-sided midfielder and a striker, but he also has a battle on his hands to keep Stephen Ireland. The midfielder wants a better deal despite being only a peripheral first-team player and has hired Joey Barton's agent, Willie McKay, to find him another club or, failing that, to persuade City that he deserves an improved contract.

Does my fucking head in. In all fairness, we know what's coming when it gets to January. Lazy journalists trying to outdo each other. Today is the 4th day of the transfer window - apart from the fact that SWP must have lost is fuckin mind to agree to joining West Ham, nothing has really happened so far. They have to speculate (i mean talk utter bollocks) or their Sports Editor will kick their arse.

| | Only a week agao http://www.mcfc.co.uk/default.sps?pageid=115&pagegid=%7BDBD12D53%2D8346%2D431D%2DA04F%2D5D0F8664DE80%7D&newsid=390101&siteid=&pageno=5&newscategory=&frommonth=11&fromyear=2006&tomonth=1&toyear=2007 Stuart Pearce has this morning confirmed that Manchester City has heard nothing from Chelsea regarding England defender Micah Richards. The London based press have again speculated today about the 18-year-old's future, but Pearce was in combative mood saying: “We’ve had no contact from them. “The only contact we’ve had with Chelsea is us ringing them about their players coming here – not them ringing us for ours.” And the Manager stressed that there are no similarities between the current situation and when Shaun Wright-Phillips left the Club. He added: “We are not in a situation at the moment that we maybe were two years ago with Shaun that we had to sell. “Things have changed at this football club. Players will only leave this club if we feel it’s for the benefit of the club – full stop. “Micah is very happy here, wants to stay at the football club and we are on a very sound financial footing." | They are determined that this move is going to happen. So when told that it isn't happening, they can't print the exact same old crap again. So they modify it very slightly and try and stir up shit in doing so by stating as 'fact' that he wants to move, and it is only mean old Man City that are standing in the way of his lifetime's ambition blah blah blah.
