| | The bit at the end made my eyebrows go up a bit- weren't we told a while ago that whilst Pearce would not have a fortune to spend there would be some finance available - now the cupboard is bare again? how long are we going to be fed this rubbish ?

I just don't understand it. 16 biggest club in the world, (on turnover), and we're potless. Before Mr Unlucky jumps down my throat, I'm not advocating blowing shed loads of cash and getting into hock, but with the Sky TV money kicking in next year, and within sight of the top 6, surely 'some' investment could repay itself 10 times over?? We're still not fucking safe from the drop!! I wonder if this 'investor' is creating this situation, with City not wanting to increase the debt directly or indirectly?

| The way I read it is that if there is someone we really want the only way we will get them is from Transfer funds raised by sales or by wardell opening his large wallet !!

| | Sound PR tactics I think. No point in saying "I've got £10m to spend" or you get ripped off as we have in the past. Someone on Radio 5 this morning was saying that the only players available in January are usually not worth having anyway which makes some sense too I reckon. Personally, if we've got some cash available I'd prefer to spend some of it on keeping Distin at City. He was magnificent again yesterday I thought.

| | I don't think it's pointless bringing new faces in Jan - it saved Pompeys arse last season - we just need to be careful and get players that will gel quickly I don't know how much longer the old 'the debt is eating all the revenue' routine will work

| | I agree, most of the transfers are done by teams desperately trying to avoid the drop. A la West Ham! However, on the flip side, do we have enough for a push at European football? Would one or two more signings give us that little edge over the likes of Newcastle, Blackburn, Reading, Everton etc in getting us into the top 6? The question is WHO? I still think somebody like Bentley would give us that little creativity behind the front 2.

I don't know how much longer the old 'the debt is eating all the revenue' routine will work Well it won't wash next season with £37m coming in from Sky alone will it?

| No point spending what little we have on more bit part players. We only need 4 more wins. We'll be fine. Save the money I say. UEFA Cup doesn't earn you enough to make it worthwhile speculating on. Do people not remember KK?
