| Aparently he scored another cracker today. If we had the money and he is surplus to Liverpool as the papers suggest, I would love to sign him, I think he is a great player.

| Barca Azul (01/01/2007) Aparently he scored another cracker today. If we had the money and he is surplus to Liverpool as the papers suggest, I would love to sign him, I think he is a great player. You see the sitters he missed with his head? For every occasion he gets lucky by flinging his Wednesday legs at the ball and getting a flukey connection there are ten lame attempts. He should be in the circus, not playing football.

| Agreed BU and the talk is of 10 million quid! No thanks.

| Wouldn't pay £10 mill for him but he is a good player, yes missed a couple of good opportunities yesterday but considering he is only playing one in 4 games he has still got 10 for the season, what would we give to have 10 more goals which probably could have got us 12 more points ( Reading, Portsmouth, Sheff U home, Watford, Newcastle, Charlton to name but a few games) which would put us in and 3rd place.

| Crouch is possibly the luckiest player around (apart from Lampard and his deflections ). His timing is impeccable, but not in the sense of striking a ball! He randomly hit a decent spell of form just as Liverpool needed a new striker, and only since signing for them has he been anywhere near consideration for the England team. The fact that all this happened just in time for a World Cup, before he was found out, means he can consider himself a very lucky boy indeed.

But think about the midfielders he's got behind him to give him those chances. Gerrard, Alonso, Pennant etc are all quality players. You've got to look at his Chance to Goal Ratio and compare it to other strikers. It's probably 1 Goal to about 6 Chances and he would be lucky to get 3 chances in a game for us.

| | I rate Crouch very highly - for me he's a class player and a top goalscorer. One or two of you on this thread are being a little harsh I feel. I wish one of our strikers could have a "lucky" swing of the leg like he allegedly has and score a text book volley on the turn. Twice. He's playing well for Liverpool, and is a cert for every England squad. Apart from the fact that Liverpool wouldn't sell him, why the fuck would he come to City?

| | I still think he is a really good player. Anyone can miss a sitter, especially if your not playing regular football. Its a confidence thing, a bit like Samaras. I think he is really under rated as a player and I liken him to Niall Quinn. He has ten goals as well, and yes he probably has better supply at Liverpool, but I think if he played week in week out that he would score a lot more. Like I said, if we had the money and I know we dont, I think he'd be a good asset to any team.
