I agree with PB, losing Richards won't mean the end of the world and at least we're in the driving seat for a change.

I'd like to see Pearce be cheeky and say "Yes you can have Richards for 20 million, or SWPplus 10 million, or SWP and Wayne Bridge plus 5 million or Joe Cole plus 5 million" and see what happens.

If Mourinho wants Richards badly enough he might deal. If not then we get to keep him.

And Wayne Bridge and Joe Cole's motivation to join us is........................?

Now you're just throwing spanners in!

If motivation's a factor, thenwe'll have to carry on as we are and buy injured, second-rate, unproven players who may or not be good enough and just see what happens.

BB,

Why would Bridge and Cole leave the back to back winning champions and wages of £70k plus a week to join us? Swap deals depend on the player coming our way to be interested too.

Yes, mate, I do know that. I'm not stating club policy or telling you what I know to be a fact, I'm just sat here dreaming and wishing. Plus, you don't ask, you don't get.

Bridge might come as he's been on loan at Fulham recently and isn't getting first team football at Chelsea. He's third in the pecking order behind Cole and Del Horno.

It says in today's BBC gossip column that Cole may need an op on his foot to save his season. Maybe this is a sign that we WILL sign him and he can join the rest of SP's signings in the physio room.

Thought he had left, which is why Bridge started against us in the first game

He won't really.  He's never going to get a better job than city if he leaves us while we are in this position.  I can't think of a manager except maybe Kendall (and thats debatable) who has left city and gone to a better club.  They always end up either unemployable e.g. Frank Clarke or at some lower league side e.g. Horton
