| ....Or, what about Alexander Zickler? Top scorer in the Austrian league. Plays for Salzburg. 16 goals in 21 games this season.

Father Funkmas (12/12/2006) It's 9 goals a season. That's just as shite as we have on the books now. Hardly improving the team is it?
I know you'll bite my head off, and I know that the Samaras deal was structured in a way that we haven't paid the £6m up front, but we really should have looked to spend the money on a proven 15+ goal a year striker.
No I agree however, I think Pearce's plans were totally screwed by Cole going to Pompey at the last minute. I doubt Samaras would have played nearly as many games as he has so far over the entire season, had Cole stayed. Dickov's return has backfired spectacularly and Corradi has yet to settle in. With playing Vass on the left a lot of responsibility has been heaped on our youngest striker's shoulders and it's starting to tell.

| This bloke is an absolute legend in Morocco - the locals sing his name in the streets. Maybe we're just hoping for increased shirt sales in the North African region?

| If all our strikers are struggling to score, is that coincidence?

Trouble is whether it's lack of quality upfront, confidence or the formation, we're not converting them. The one thing I've noticed id that when we're playing with 3 strikers, (albeit Vass on the left), we never seem to get anyone into the box other than Corradi on occasion.

| exactly we need someone who can create decent chances not just from the wings and the only way to do that is play Ireland or try buying Yossi from west ham in the transfer window (he has been playing out of posistion and is reportedly unhappy).

| | You're on the right path BU, although the strikers have had a wealth of chances in some matches. A big criticism of our strikers for me is that they don't create a great deal of chances for themselves and each other, which is something that Andy Cole did in abundance.
