| I for one would be very disappointed to see Ireland go, he's showed some flashes of real potential when he's been given the chance. Tell Joey to stop fannying about with the fancy stuff, get him to play a holding role and give Ireland a chance to be the playmaker we so desperately need.

Joey is playing his best ever football and is our leading scorer, it would be foolish to change his roll. I do think Ireland should play but not forcing Barton to change his roll. |

Oh, I thought you were talking about Reyna being on the front of the programme last night? The previous comments to yours were about the huge hidded yank!

ESM's Big Inflatable Santa (05/12/2006) ...although I'm not sure if he would have coped with their 'aggressive style of play'.
Thats true enough, but I'm not sure I saw Reyna win a tackle or header all night. We might as well have played with ten!
BU; Pretty much everyone was below par last night so why single Reyna out? It's the same old tired rubbish, whenever you can, get a dig in on Reyna.
He's actually playing some good football and has stayed off the treatment table for a while. Reyna is a clever player, but can be quite defensive.
He does the job that everyone else hates and that's off the ball and you need to really take a good look to appreciate it.
I'm not saying he's the best player we have, but he isn't as bad as you're making out; he did win tackles and he did put himself about last night and in games before that.
I do like Ireland though and am surprised at his lack of action, although he's not long back from a couple of injuries so maybe SP know's something we don't.
Now there's a shocker *Sarcasm smiley*

| I'm not picking on Reyna. He played shite. No, I take that back, in order to play shite you have to have made some contribution which, certainly in the first half, he did not. The reason we struggled to get to grips with the game yesterday is because too many players were unable or unwilling to match Watford at their own game. Reyna is an experienced player who should've led by example. Instead he played the pansy. I forgot he was on the pitch til he was fouled just outside their box in the second half. Utterly useless.
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say |

From that I can see you normally like him! Or not.
In the first half, no one (Weaver exempt) played well, it was dire. Reyna was just a part of that, you mentioned him by name so obviously don't rate him.
That's fine, but don't have a go at him just because you don't like him when everyone around him was shite too...............

I've mentioned those who I think didn't perform in the first half in other threads. It wasn't just Reyna, but it certainly wasn't everyone. Some of them at least put the effort in. They just didn't get the support they should have had.

I'm not someone who has anything particularly against Reyna, and certainly wouldn't use him as a scapegoat for the sake of it, but surely it must be acknowledged that he was totally anonymous in the first half? I almost forgot he was playing until the camera panned in on him! That's not to say all the other players were great, but at least they were crap in that what they tried to do didn't come off. Reyna just wasn't in the game at all.
