| Yes BB, you are. Every football fan knows that the stick you give out at football has very little bearing on how you act in 'real' life!"

| fatsquid (19/09/2006) Yes BB, you are. Every football fan knows that the stick you give out at football has very little bearing on how you act in 'real' life!"Fair enough, but were adults! I'm sorry I don't want to sound like some kind've a prude (because I'm not) but I just don't think it's very funny to see these children, who should be allowed to maintain their innocence as long as possible, being encouraged to shout profanities. Yeah, alright they're at a football match, but how do they then know that's it's not acceptable to tell their parents or teachers to fuck off.

| | fair enough if that's your point of view, but when i started to go to football i was told by my parents that i was going to hear a lot of things that i wouldn't usually hear and that it is not acceptable to repeat. Then as i got older i knew that i could also make wanker signs at the opposing fans, just as they do it back to me. I always knew that that is not how you would behave. It's just at football things are different. Don't get me wrong i know there is a limit, but a kid giving the "v's" or whatever to another person isn't going to offend many people, is it? He's probably just rebelling anyway "screw you dad, you can't make me come again!"

| I suppose I'm just sick of watching these reality tv programmes (maybe I should just change channel!) about unruly little bastard kids running around wrecking the house, telling their parents where to go, and kicking the shit out of their siblings! I just hate to see kids behaving like that, at the risk of sounding like an old granny it's about time they started showing a little more respect. I'd never have sworn out loud in front of my Dad at the football, still doesn't seem right even now.

Some people dive into breeding kids without a fucking clue. The kids are sat in front of a TV or a play station or chucked out onto the streets to play. Part of being a parent is involving your children in your life 100%, not just giving them a roof to live under and food to eat. Children are what you make them.

I don't swear in front of my parents in conversation, not even at football, but giving gestures to the opposing fans isn;t as serious in my opinion. The reality tv programmes about unruly little bastard kids don't represent society. If they represented the norm then there would be no viewers. Most kids are sensible enough to see the difference and draw the line between what goes on at a football match and what it is acceptable in normal social situations.

| Mine will be grumpy then?
The lad in the City photo aint that young is he? I'm sure I knew what a wanker was by his age. Think the Feyenoord lad is a little too young to be giving the finger though.
Remember watching Rangers come down to SJP for a friendly a few years back. After the game me and me mates were following a crowd of Rangers fans back into town They were singing anti-papist songs, and I remember being quite shocked that a lad that cannot have been more than 5 years old was sat on his dads shoulders singing and swearing along with the best of them. Tis quite simple. Some people should not be allowed to have kids!
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking when I hear the silly things that you say |
