I think the only way we will get him is if he turns around and says he wants to play for City, and turn down everyone else.

We don't have the finances to compete in a bidding war. Wigan have more chance of landing him than we do if that happens.

I fer one wouldn't want Shaun back at the club.as much as he was a great player, he is no where near as good a player as we sold, i saw him a week or 2 back where he come on in a champions league game and he just didn't have it, He couldn't control the ball and passes were going astray.there is no way anybody will pay over 10 million fer him now, probably just about scrape 6 million.

Although I agree with him not coming back, surely his current poor form is down to lack of games and confidence?

He is a confidence player - when he missed a few games for City it took him 2 or 3 games to get his feel for game back.  If he goes to a club and gets a gam every week after a few months the confidence and class will begin to show.  He'd be a good uy for Liverpool / Arsenal but Chelsea wouldn't want that would they, so he'll probably go to a relatively wealthy second tier team like Spuds / West Ham / Newcastle / Villa !! Portsmouth !!! (close to his brother).

wardle must not let pearcey loose with keegans cheque book.....it will end up in tears....if he's to let loose with the purse strings give him the money but make him spend it wisely on 2 players, i have faith in the strike force we have so leave it as it is, sturridge and miller are playing well for the reserves, samaras is showing glimpses of excellence and corradi i think will start to score as his confidence grows. As i see it our problems are all left sided.

I think we need 1 x left back URGENTLY....of the attacking kind

                        1 x left midfield - a midfielder not a winger

For me spending 10 million on swp would be a mistake. It would be the only money we'd be spending in the next three transfer windows and wouldn't answer the major problems in the squad. If we were going to spend that money it should go on two or three players. We need a goalscorer. I quite like Corradi, and agree that samaras has something about him, but rely on those two to score the 30 odd goals we need from our front two? no Thanks. Who we should get or from where i don't know but thats (hopefully) what the scouts are working on. The change needs to go on a hardworking left sided midfielder.

I loved swp, but he's gone, and we made out best in the deal. I think a return to us is an admission that he made a mistake - he's more likely to go to spurs or west ham

Just Listening to The Legends on Century and theirs a Chelsea fan on now and he just said if Pearce wants Wright-Phillips they'll have Micah Richards, as soon as  i heard about Pearce wanting Wright Phillips back the first thing  I thought was Micah richards goin the other way. Theres No way Stuart can let that happen. If say Wright Phillips was gonna go to say Spurs and Stuart was gonna pay between 8-10 million to try and bring Shaun back, what about splashing say 8 million on Lennon?? He's a good little player and  where as Shaun has took some backward steps, i think Aaron is now the kind of player where Shaun left off from when he left us.

Cast your minds back 15 months. If Chelsea had offered some deal that would have seen SWP go on loan to them for 18 months in return for an up front payment of 10 million, who would have turned that down?

Only Chelsea of course. And that is why it is unlikely SWP is going to return now. It would be an embarrassing public acknowledgement by both the club and player  that they screwed up.

I'd take him back. I'm not going to talk finance because everything has pretty much been said about it and i don't want to repeat other peoples points.

We saw with SWP that he can change games and is capable of changing our team. He would be the creative midfielder we all want. And Timo said we could spend the money on four or five players...sorry but doing that with £12m isn't going to get us anywhere. And that a=many new players at this stage would disrupt the squad completly.
