Mr Badger (28/11/2006) Plus, any list of music icons should include Robert Johnson IMO.I take it from the deafening silence that nobody agrees with me then? Why would we change our habits now?

| Bruce Springstein. Nice enough bloke I'd say but never got the music. Plodding yank rock.

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

| Speaking of Robert Johnson. How come nobody's mentioned Eric Clapton yet?
Yes, all right.. Christ Almighty! It's like walking down a corridor and answering the door in Nazi Germany! |

| save me Jeebus (28/11/2006) Speaking of Robert Johnson. How come nobody's mentioned Eric Clapton yet?Clapton's done nowt since he was in Cream. they were good, but since then he's just been treading water. Speaking of cream, they were a massive influence on the heavy rock bands that would come around several years after Cream split. Another one would be The kinks. Nobody was using those heavy, heavy dirty riffs back in the early 60's. |
