| Timpblue (27/11/2006) Hes still garbage IMO but he is now Newcastles top scorer !He's scored as many goals as our 4 put together, although most have been in the UEFA cup. The difference is, he's played in his preferred position

| I always thought he was an ok player. He worked hard for the team and chipped in with a few goals. He isn't the best player around but he didn't deserve the abuse he received either.
That should be reserved for lazy bastards who don't pull their weight.

| I think the fact he's knocking them in for Newcastle proves he wasn't as bad as we made him look. He's still playing against the same teams after all.
you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

| | That's quite true, but it's not as if he would be the answer to our goal scoring problems if he we still with us. Maybe his good results at Newcastle are more a confirmation of our service deficiencies than anything else. The truth is if he we still with us he'd probably out on left wing and getting stick for his poor production. |

| Good point Leftcoaster. He is in his favourite role, gaining confidence through time on the pitch and he's getting some decent service. At City he was never a 1st 11 layer, always played out of position and never got enough of a run to gain any confidence. SP obviosuly thought he was 5th choice striker, so still wouldn't have got a chance if we'd kept him. Glad to see him playing regularly and seemingly enjoying it.

| | Wow! You guys have short memories. Tony was a nice guy and a hard worker but he was also not very good. He may be Newcastle's top scorer but then they're hardly banging them in are they. Was he on the pitch at the CoMS? Barely noticed him if he was.
Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced. |

| Timpblue (28/11/2006) and he's also turned nasty saying that city and pearce 'wasted him' and he is now showing what he's capable ofFair comment IMO. I got bored of saying "but if we only played him in his natural position".
