no body reckon this Mills kid is up to the job then ?

anyone watch the reserves on a regular basis ?

Not from what I've seen on that Manchster tv thing on Sky. I hate to say it but he looks shite to me.

The replacement will probably come from within, either Onuoha or Richards. But as ESM says that will leave us short on numbers especially if the other players who are out of contract leave as well.

The best like for like replacement is probably Upson but we couldn't afford him.

Is it just me that thinks Upson is turd?

Nedum and Richards are up to it, even if half a season will be settling period.

Problems with this: Nedum may be injury prone? Lack of cover as ESM said earlier.

We need more.

Ideally Distin would bloody stay...!

I've never thought he was worth the 5-6 million that's been quoted

I'd say turd is harsh. He is everything that Distin is, left footed, mobile, consistent but prone to lapses but has the pace to recover.

I don't think Ned is injury prone but the injury he did get was a very serious one. Hopefully he's fully mended now though.

He's got youth on his side so I should think he'll be fixed.

The replacement comes from buying a decent right winger. Trabelsi is first and foremost a right back afterall. Micah in the centre, Trabelsi at rb and SWP back on the wing. Happy days.

We wouldn't get much for Distin in January anyway. Clubs will be able to approach him with a view to signing him for nowt in the summer. What club would pay for a player who could come free in 6 months? Apart from Portsmouth that is!!!

Besides, keeping Distin til seasons end the way things are might well end up saving us money.

With regard to the whole will we have cover thing I reckon thats why we're after the versatile Billy Jones who can play anywhere along the back line.

More bullshit journalism from the Mirror.   What they say: City have reluctantly accepted they will listen to bids for Distin.  Quote from Wardle: I don't want him to go.  Now either he said more than just that in his interview, in which case surely that would be a relevant quote to have in the 'article' and would give it more credence.  Or he didn't 'reluctantly accept he would listen to offers' at all.  Either way, this poor excuse for journalism doesn't get us any nearer to knowing the truth of the matter.

MANCHESTER City admit for the first time that they will reluctantly listen to offers for contract rebel Sylvain Distin in the January transfer window.

French centre-half Distin was a serious summer target for Middlesbrough and had talks with Gareth Southgate before a move collapsed over terms.

Chairman John Wardle said: "My personal view is that I don't want Sylvain to leave the club."
