| Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson may have received 'indirect' contact from Benfica and would not rule out a return to his former club, according to agent Athole Still. The Swede's long-term future as City boss is in severe doubt, with reports suggesting he will be sacked after the final two fixtures of the Premier League season. Eriksson has enjoyed an encouraging first campaign at Eastlands, but appears to have failed to impress owner Thaksin Shinawatra, who bought the club last year. OffersThe situation has prompted reports in Portugal to claim that Eriksson is the man Benfica want to replace Jose Antonio Camacho at the helm, who left as coach earlier this year. Eriksson won three League titles and took Benfica to both the European Cup and Uefa Cup finals during his previous stints, which were between 1982-1984, and 1989-1992. And Still has failed to rule out the possibility of Eriksson returning to Estadio da Luz, but admits his salary demands may prove a stumbling block. "The door is not closed for Benfica," Still, who says nothing will be considered until the end of the season, told Portuguese newspaper O Jogo. "The question of money is important. "He is unlikely to continue, but it is still not 100 per cent certain that he will leave Manchester City. "He may have been contacted indirectly. If any club wish to talk with Eriksson, they must call me. They have my number." Behrami linkMeanwhile, reports emanating from Italy suggest that Lazio are lining up a deal to sign on-loan striker Rolando Bianchi on a permanent contract with Valon Behrami heading to the City of Manchester Stadium as part of the switch. Behrami, 23, is highly rated in Serie A, with the Switzerland international capable of playing in defence and midfield. |

| If he was going to Benfica, why would he want to sign Behrami?
There is a load of shit going on somewhere, and all the stories are so inonsistent. Behrami is a Sven type of buy (ie not a superstar) so if there are any foundations to this story it would mean that Sven would appear to be going nowhere.

Im not too sure to be honest, which strengthens the case as to it being a 'Sven' signing. If it was Thaskin pulling the strings then I would have thought it would have been a 'galacticos' name being touted. The fact that Behrami has never been brought up, or courted by 'top' clubs makes you think that Sven does still have a say in things.
It just makes the story by Sky seem very very inconsistent and shows really bad journalism.
