I totally agree Benny, no-one has actually said anything yet, its all just word of mouth really - Sometimes when nothing is said it is far worse than when something is said. I believe that Sven will be with us next season, I genuinely do, and I will keep believeing that until someone with authority at City says otherwise.

Because I like Sven, like Noel Gallagher said - he has a graceful presence that I feel suits our club, and i feel that the players have shown a real maturity this season under his management.

Is it the end of the world ? No

Am I utterly and completely pissed off with the club being laughed at - again ? More than words can say

It might not be the end of the world, but it might be the end of my love affair with City. Leaving aside the fact that the club is being destabilised again, I'm disgusted by the way in which Shinawatra has conducted himself. Eriksson deserves to be treated in a way which befits his standing as a respected manager and a decent man. The lack of morals on Shinawatra's side has left a really nasty taste and whatever happens, whoever he brings in, wherever City finish next year, won't change that.
I'd prefer Shinwatra to take his money and piss off.

As I said when this all started let's just keep our powder dry.

Remember Chelsea, Finished runners up in league & champs league semi final. End of season Ranieri was sacked. Chelsea fans in up roar.. enter Mourinho and the most successful chapter in the clubs history....fans happy.

You never know what will happen next, I do not subscribe to the view that we will lose all our best players or that we will never get as good a manager as Sven ever again.

I am disappointed at this destabilising of the club in the short term and perhaps another summer of relative uncertainty but we will get another manager if Sven goes, we will buy players this summer, players may well leave but more will come in.

Let's wait and see it won't be boring and at least we will have lots to talk*about.

Sven Going>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mourinho Coming.

It doesn't make me happy, it leaves the players in unrest, and it's general bollocks.

I did have plans on going to the first home game, was going to suggest a meet-up, but now I'm not too sure whether I want to go.

Lets start a breakaway club and call it FC City of Manchester, it'd be well original!

fck me

Acording to The Guardian, after Thaksin bought City in a £80million takeover last summer, he appointed as directors of he club his son Panthongtae, his daughter Pintongta and Sasin Monvoisin, the wife of the former Thai ambassador, Vikrom Koompirochana.

He also brought in an old associate, Taweesuk Jack Srisumrid, to monitor the working performances of the club's employees.

But it seems that Taweesuk in particular has made a poor impression.

Established personnel at the club were reportedly embarrassed when Monvoisin was seen collecting autographs outside the away dressing room after Chelsea's recent game at Eastlands.

Don't you think that statement makes you a bit of a fairweather fan?  Did you only start supporting City 'cos of Sven? He's hardly a City legend is he?  And let's remember, nothing has actually happened yet. Do you not remember having had 5 managers by christmas time-we survived that and we'll survive this. The gossip (which is currently all it is) is not good or dignified right now but talks of tearing up season tickets and boycotts are more premature than my little problem.

I agree wholeheartedly with eveything that Benny says here. Especially the last bit. How's the medicine working btw?

Don't Shed Too Many Tears For Sven Or His Successor

A recent poll showed the over 90% of Manchester City fans were opposed to Thaksin Shinawatra's putative decision to sack Sven-Goran Eriksson. The Swede has a groundswell of support among City fans but their opinions won't count for much.

What we are talking about here is business. The owner thinks that someone else can do the job better- and contrary to some opinion, there will be many takers for the job. How many other occupations are there where you can walk away with a £2.5 million pay off for 9 months work?

Fans always look at football with a certain amount of sentimentality but those at the top- owners, administrators and professionals- have very little, if any. Sven may well be a little unhappy to leave but he's one of the modern breed of managers who wander Europe doing a job, pick up big rewards and either move on or get sacked.

The sack is part of the role. It doesn't mean the same as the sack to you or me. They know another big job will come up and the boot doesn't lessen their reputation among their peers. Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger are not in any way typical of their profession.

Another big name will take the City job; they won't be put off by Sven's firing. The new man will get a massive pay packet and a lot of cash to spend and if it goes wrong he'll trouser a wad of cash. The players support Sven to the hilt until he goes then go mad to impress the new boss. They have to, as they are under contract to the club not the coach.

Only the fans have an actual allegiance to the club. Many believe Eriksson;'s removal would be against natural justice but they are hardly going to stop going to Eastlands and become Bury fans just because of a Swedish boss with a nice line in understatement.

Once he goes the focus moves to whether the new man can do better. Eriksson meanwhile takes a little sabbatical and moves smoothly into another hot seat with another £2m plus in his bank account.

Thaksin Shinawatra will get heat from the City fans if City slide or don't improve but to be frank, compared to the sticjk he gets in other matters, a bit of abuse from football fans- who still shell out at the gate anyway- is hardly likely to bother him.

So don't get too upset for Sven. The man himself isn't getting too uptight about it as he knows this is just football- or at least football in the early 21st Century.  City fans yearn to be back among the big hitters and this sort of naked powerplay is what being in the elite is all about. It's a sign of how far they have come but whether that's a good thing is another matter.
