goater78 (29/04/2008) Though its obviously a terrible decision, I can't help but feel a bit excited. If Thaskin is prepared to sack Sven then he can only have someone absolutely stella lined up to take over e.g. Scolari, Mouriniho etc.. He must also be planning on really splashing the cash during the summer, I think Sven shot himself in the foot because even though we have done brilliant this year and i think we should have kept him, there is no denying the fact alot of the football we have played has been pretty dire, and playing only 1 up front has always been a bit negative. When someone takes the lead against us I always expect us to lose! Still a terrible decision though i think Sven should have been kept for another season at least. It is no coincidence that this has happened after the last home game of the season so that there will be no fan protests. The next time we play at COMS i am sure we will have a superstar manager and some very impressive signings so its going to be unlikely that there will be many protests at the game. And when we don't win the Premiership and the Champions League we'll give the next fella the boot as well. Who's going to come if you're only going to get a year? Even if you meet "the plan". You want to be worried, look at some of the names in these odds from a betting site: Phil Scolari, who turned down the England job after Sven had left in 2006, is 4/1 favourite to follow in Eriksson's footsteps this time. Ex-Bolton boss Sam Allardyce is 6/1 second favourite while Jose Mourinho, Steve McClaren, Paul Ince and Guus Hiddink are all 8/1 chances. Mark Hughes is a 10/1 chance while Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard, who could be the toast of City fans if his side knock Manchester United out of the Champions League tonight, is 12/1 alongside Stuart Pearce and Ronald Koeman. Also quoted are 14/1 Harry Redknapp, David O'Leary, 20/1 Bernd Schuster, 25/1 Terry Venables, 33/1 Peter Reid, Martin Allen, 50/1 Trevor Francis. They always recycle the same names when there is a manager vacancy so i wouldn't worry about that. It has to be Scolari as there is no way that anyone would sack Sven and replace him with someone like Big Sam! Thaskin may be impatient but he is not an idiot, he has obviously been attracted by someone who he sees as a bigger name. Also lets put this in perspective this time last year we were massively in debt and only just stayed up. Plus is seem to remember after Pearce got sacked we almost appointed Souness! Though its a bit worrying to lose Sven at least next year is going to be entertaining and with the dross that is coming up from the championship e.g. stoke, West Brom and possibly Hull there is no serious danger of us being relegated especially if we have money to burn. |

I actually feel a bit sick in my stomach about this, it's utterly unbelievable but I fear this time it's all true. I think the writing has been on the wall for a few weeks since Frank opened his fat gob in Dubai, since then there has been mass speculation in the media building up to this, yet the club have made no official comment to either confirm or deny these rumours. If they weren't true surely the club would want to quash them as quickly as possible, but as yet not a peep from Mr Tyrell or anyone else for that matter. The only direct comment on this fuck up has come from Sven and his agent. Me too East Stand, everything I feared about the involvement of the likes of TS appears to be coming true. I fear we are the new Hearts. Yup. I'd been holding off that feeling by thinking it was all media rubbish (which a teeny piece still does), but it's getting greater and greater.

| | Everyone is talking about scolari and so on. What if he brings in a thai coach, he seems abit strange so everything is possible when it comes to this man. I get the feeling Franky does not know what he want to do with city...( he might even turn us to a dodgeball club ) |

Or maybe he's an impatient wanker who knows dick all about how to run a football club, yet still insists on exercising a controlling hand in everything. |

| | If Scolari was to be the next City boss, we'd be in fucking limbo land like we were last summer until after the Euro's were over, yet again we miss out on a sizable chunk of the transfer window with no signings and no new contracts offered. Even worse we could see Frank and his team of fucktards buying the players THEY want rather than the new managers. One thing I will say, is that although this situation is totally mad, and although we HAVE achieved what we set out to do at the start of the season, one or two players need to take a hard look at themselves as their performances over the last few months haven't helped either the club or Sven's position. In fact you could say that 11 players need to have a look at themselves if they think that the second half performance in the last home game of the season in from of Frank and 50 Thai MP's was going to do Sven any favours.

| looks like Frank is planning ahead when he gets man he can work with. Thailands interior minister (who by the way used to be franks lawyer) has stated that his funds will be 'unfrozen in the near future' - perhaps he plans to thrwo money at the club until we're happy?
