| I would'nt blame Sven for walking away from this club, how are you meant to impress when the targets keep getting changed? I certainly wouldnt stick around in a job if this happened to me.
Sven will come out as the good guy for once, and deservedley so. He has achieved what was asked, at least give him another season to build on the squad.
I think this Thaskin has shown why there is much suspicion attatched to his name.

| Sven should have definitely been given at least another year, with more signings. The team he inherited was two players better off than being a relegation side, and he's turned us into a comfortable top 10 side, in next to no time.
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort That they better start assembling the boys from the fort. And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight, 'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight. |

I think we all need to calm down a little here. I do not want Sven to go, he has done a good job, brought some great players in and we have played good football at times. But on the flip side, we have been negative at times, consistently only played with 1 forward home or away when games have cried out for 2, We have a poor record against teams in the lower half of the table and we have capitulated a couple of times Fulham not withstanding. And as for the quality of the signings, Bianchi £8m (didn't work but Sven wouldn't play him) Caciedo £5m(yet to prove himself but are you impressed so far?) Castillo (loan but Sven wanted him for £10m and do we think he will cut it?) Geovanni ( Clearly got class, pace, touch but Sven won't play him? why?). Let's put his successes and failures into perspective. Shinawatra has put money in, and perhaps he feels that there is someone he can get who can do a better job. I'm not saying that is right or wrong but you have got to give him some credit for what he has done so far and cut him some slack until he plays his hand. Prehaps he has lined up Scolari, or Rijkard or some other high profile manager. Perhaps he is just waiting to loosen the purse strings to a significant extent and perhaps he feels Erikkson isn't the man to trust with this amount of money. I will be disappointed if Sven goes and I will think it is a waste of £2.5m in severence pay, but if we go on to better things this will be forgotten about pretty quickly. Just look at Average Grant. I have it on fairly good authority that the money spent so far is actually the Sky money, not Franks. True but he still spent £80m of his own money buying the club and wiping out the debt. I will be disappointed as any City fan as it becomes increasingly apparent that this will happen. But I don't think we should be calling for Shinawatra's head becuase without him we wouldn't have brought Sven in at all and wouldn't have had the season we have. Maybe we have lost out on some targets and he feels Sven isn't a big enough draw to some players. Perhaps he wants a younger hungier manager who is in his peak. Perhaps he wants to bring in the Thai national manager....who knows but until we do know then we should keep our powder dry.

It's not Sven that isn't the "draw" it's City and a lack of European football. Given the funds Sven would have bought Uefa Cup football to City as a minimum. Thaksin needs to realise that Abramovich has now spent £500 million on Chelsea and could still be empty handed this season. It takes time as well as money.

I take your point, but even if he brings in the best manager in the world, it is still a load of disruption that the club really doesn't need, and it is all totally unnecessary. I think most people are so alarmed at this development not because we are about to lose Sven, specifically, but because Thaksin will have shown himself to be unrealistic, unreasonable and fickle, someone who sets a target then still isn't satisfied when it is achieved and instead demands the impossible. Someone who is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to work for. The whole situation is ludicrous, and doesn't bode well for the future.

I am not happy about this, almost can't believe it is happening, but untill we know what is going on and why, we shouldn't get too carried away. What I would like to know however is just who is advising Shinawatra at the moment?

| Already done it. I've enquired as how I get a refund on next season ST's if Sven gets the boot Maybe a knee jerk reaction by me, but there's little else I can do to show how strongly I feel about this situation. I will always support City, but I don't have to support the current regime.

I am with Mrs Monkey and ESM, this is not good for building the club up. We dont know if he has wiped the clubs debt out either as its no longer a PLC and for all we know he hasnt spend very much do to the sky funds.
