There's a very long thread on this on another forum, been going since this afternoon and SKy has recently started reporting it too.

Not looking good and I am also not very happy if it's true.

Would be totally wrong if he is sacked after one season. His goal was top 10, he has delivered that. If after next season we are worse off after millions spent then fair enough....sack the swede.

Since 22nd december 2007 our league record is as follows.

won 5 drawn 7  lost 7

Scored 20 conceded 25

Total games 19

*Not including cup games*

In no particular order:

We Have drew with Bolton, Wigan, Derby, West Ham, Blackburn, Aston villa and Liverpool

We have lost to Birmingham, Arsenal, Everton x2, Fulham, Reading, Chelsea.

We have beaten, Scum, Sunderland, Portsmouth,  Newcastle utd and Spurs.

Six of the games we drawn or lost were against bottom teams, "THIS IS IT RIGHT HERE"

We also lost to Sheffield utd in the cup which pissed me off, bu not counted.

Just figures which the media have worked off i suppose.

Sven Goran Eriksson hopes Manchester City's season is not judged on their capitulation against Fulham amid fresh doubts about the Swede's future.

City have endured a frustrating second half of the campaign which has prompted questions to be raised about Eriksson's future in the job.

The Swede only took on the role last summer, but owner Thaksin Shinawatra recently admitted he would review Eriksson's position at the end of the season.

Shinawatra is unhappy at how City have fallen out of contention for European football in recent months and met with the manager at the weekend.

Following the 3-2 defeat at home to Fulham, in which City threw away a two-goal lead, Sky Sports News has learned that the two men had a frank exchange of views.

Sky Sports News also understands that issues are 'coming to a head' regarding the former England coach's future at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Lesson for future

However, Eriksson feels it would be unjust to judge City's campaign on the basis of conceding three goals in the final 20 minutes against relegation-threatened Fulham.

"What did we expect from this team before the season started?" Eriksson told the club's official website.

"We are not a side that is fighting for the Champions League yet, because if you are you don't give away three points like we did against Fulham on Saturday.

"You can't judge the season on the last 20 minutes of Saturday, I'm very disappointed with what happened and I hope it's a lesson to everyone for the future."

City also released a statement which read: "Sven Goran Eriksson is attending a football foundation event in London tonight on behalf of the club and he will be at Carrington tomorrow morning to take training as normal.

"Sven Goran Eriksson has confirmed that he has no plans to leave the club."

Hmm, on the one hand there are no direct quotes whatsoever from the first part of this article saying that Sven might leave. On the other hand, rumours this strong have been known to be true, and Frank has been on record saying that the manager won't get a huge amount of money until such time as we get into Europe.  Maybe Sven doesn't fancy working under financial constraints.  I was never Sven's greatest fan before he took over (though his club record was something that interested me) but I've few complaints about what he's done since taking the job and I believe in giving a manager time to fully establish his own team, so I'd be pissed off if this was true and he ended up leaving now.

Though the club says he isn't going to leave, so I'm not sure what to believe about this.  Typical tabloid speculation really, could go either way.  I'm not going to discount the rumours out of hand, but I'll wait until I hear something official before getting wound up about it.

Manchester City and Sven-Goran Eriksson's agent have both insisted the Swede will not be quitting the club amid fresh doubts over his future

Eriksson had a cordial if uneasy meeting with City owner Thaksin Shinawatra on Sunday but it is business as usual for the Swede, who will be taking training on Tuesday having represented the club at a Football Foundation function in London on Monday night.

Eriksson himself blasted his players for being lazy against Fulham at the weekend. However, rumours about his position as City manager refuse to go away.

City released a statement saying: "Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed that he has no plans to leave the club.

"He will be at Carrington to take training as normal."

And his agent Athole Still added: "There is no way he will quit after the successful job he has done."

Eriksson has also received firm backing from Michael Ball, City's captain on Saturday in the absence of Richard Dunne, who said the squad were to a man supportive of the former England manager.

Ball said: "Every player is 100 per cent behind him (Eriksson). We like his methods, the way he trains, the way he goes about his tactics.

"If the club wants to go forward we have got to keep the coaching staff and obviously add a few more players."

Eriksson said the players' attitude was to blame for their 3-2 humiliation by Fulham after they had been cruising at 2-0 ahead.

He told the club's website: "We had a lot of defenders injured, so the backline was completely new but we didn't lose to Fulham just because of that. We lost because our attitude in the last 20 minutes to defending throughout went away.

"At the end of the game we had four, five players up the field like strikers and not even walking back, that's not acceptable. Adding to that, we had a new back four so we will have to learn the lesson.

"You have to take blows to the head, like we did on Saturday, to learn so it does not happen again. We have to learn to get behind the ball when we lose it."

City will certainly finish the season in line with Thaksin's target - being in the top half of the league - with the aim being to qualify for Europe in a year's time and the Champions League two years down the line.

The owner has pinpointed "a striker, a midfielder and a defender" to be signed in the summer while Eriksson only stated he needs "something" to lift City into the top six.

I am afraid I am also starting to believe that Sven might be leaving. And to be honest I would too. Thaksin seems to be a complete moron with no idea about football. And if he is turning into the next Abramovich who wants to dictate to their managers which players to buy then what's next? Telling the manager who is in the first 11 and who plays at which position?

Thaksin is a fucking idiot. Why I am glad that we have an owner who has money now, I am also mad as hell that he is such an incompetent sod.

Hark now hear, the City sing
