Man, I wanted to send you a PM but you know why I didn't/cannot. For those of you that dont care about this thread, no need to hang around.

Your recommendation and my thoughts;

Band of Horses: great, really good stuff, they are tunesmiths and something that I never would have listened to had you not recommended. Actually unless you recommended it I would not have listened to any of these. BoH: Quality guitar based melodians.

I'm from Barcelona: different, play the 'quirky-card' but not in a negative way, only listened a couple of times but good, chirpy pop rock. All round very decent.

Nixon: I am enjoying it, wont go overboard yet but I am enjoying it.

Choochtown: I am unable to categorise this lot, 'versatile' maybe. At times rockabilly, punk, 60's teen scream, Warholesque drug paraphraso, bizarre and tres cool.

Fabriclive 36 (basically LCD Sound System DJing): cant get enough, if you'd of said 'it's really vocally, deeply funky, bar/lounge/party music' I'd have never of listened to it. But this works, well, it does more than that, it's up and at em, positivo dance tuneage. 9/10.

The other LCD Sounds Systems I havent got to yet, my comments to follow.

Cheers again fella, much appreciated.

It was the mention of LCD Soundsystem that me off. I have nothing against them, but the bit i've heard did nothing for me, so until i've given that more of a listen and got used to it, artists that draw comparisons aren't going to appeal to me.

Maybe one day

Glad you liked those Daniel, but you can still pm though you just need to work out how!

I think you'll enjoy LCD when you get round to them and give Lambchop time. When I first heard them I didn't get them at all. Took me ages to get it and now I don't think there's another band that comes even close.

I'm liking the stuff you sent btw, ain't the t'internet brilliant!

Not sure that LCD draw comparisons as such Squidge but they do sample some very old stuff like The Sweet's "Blockbuster" and other 70's cheese. Personally I find it very funny and also cleverly done but I accept it's also an age thing.

Kind of a weird genre "Uber-cool dance music referencing 1970's cheesy glam rock - all of which might appeal to the over 40's!"

That counts me out then. I'm only 39. A young 39. A mere whippersnapper.
