Bert tried in vain to tune the Sat Nav on his new car to the City of Manchester Stadium

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.

I have a new found appreciation for steam engines after I saw my first ever live in the flesh one the other week. I even did a bit of searching* and found it was called the cotton mill express and runs regular trips round the mill towns of the north west for 40 something quid.

*Actually, I just picked up the paper, turned the page, and there was an article about it. With pictures.

Too often, we lose sight of lifes simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother....pass it on.

There used to be one of them in the park near me. It was back in the 70s though. I remember going on it as a kid while up here visiting my gran. One of the reasons I moved up here 30 years later. Not the train, my gran, or nana as I called here. Thanks for that CBP, that was a nice memory. I dont have much memory of my own unless I'm prompted.

Nice avatar.

There used to steam trains go through our village occasionally when I was a nipper.  I'm sure the Flying Scotsman went through, but I may be imagining this.
