| How do you 'accidentally' kick someone? I know he's a dozy twat, but even so... Rio Ferdinand has apologised to a Chelsea steward after accidentally kicking her at the end of today's match. The Manchester United defender, tipped to be the next permanent England captain, was angry following the 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge. He intended to take his frustrations out on a wall but instead kicked the steward. Ferdinand went back to say sorry and she said "she totally understood" as she was unhurt, said United. A club spokesman said: "Rio would like to apologise to the lady".

| He wasn't the only one, either...Chelsea's groundstaff were involved in a post-match bust-up with Manchester United players during a warm-down session at Stamford Bridge. United's Patrice Evra, Paul Scholes, John O'Shea, Gerard Pique and Gary Neville were taking part in the warm-down on the pitch when they were asked to move by Chelsea groundstaff. The row erupted when the players refused to come off the pitch and an altercation broke out between Chelsea stewards, groundstaff and the United players. Chelsea had earlier beaten Manchester United 2-1 to go level on points at the top of the Barclays Premier table.
