| It's his decision. According to him.Georgios Samaras has told Manchester City he does not want to return to Eastlands when his loan at Celtic comes to an end. Samaras moved north in January as manager Sven Goran Eriksson allowed the Greek striker to leave on loan until the end of the season to build first-team experience ahead of the start of Euro 2008. The 23-year-old cost City £6million from Heerenveen in 2006 as former boss Stuart Pearce made Samaras the then most expensive Greek footballer in Europe. However, Samaras failed to live up to expectations in England and he has now confirmed he does not want wish to return to City in the summer. "All I know is I won't be going back to Manchester City, that is for sure," Samaras told the Manchester Evening News. "I don't want to go back there. "I'm glad I'm at Celtic and I am trying to reach the European Championship in the summer. "That is why I want them to help them win the title but what will happen in the summer, I don't know." Samaras, though, has hinted that he will only stay at Celtic Park if he is offered more starting opportunities by manager Gordon Strachan. "I am happy just now but in the future I want to be the first striker at the club," Samaras added. "Staying at Celtic is my choice but only time will tell."

| Barna Azul (23/04/2008) I still think its a shame, never really got a decent go of it/support when he played!!I always really really wanted him to do well, for some reason, but it never happened for him with us. I'm sure a lot of it was to do with being played out of position and the dire football we were playing, but it's telling that he doesn't want to come back even now there is a new manager and virtually a new team.
