According to MrsW you are a 12 year old and I assume you don't have all the standard issued classics everyone should have.  Buy the following straight away:

Love - Forever Changes - The greatest album ever made. A great

Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous Just buy it!

The Who - Whos Next Yes

Kraftwerk - The Man Machine I prefer Autobahn or TEE

Slayer - Reign In Blood (thrash metal but you must own it anyway)

Beach Boys - Beach Boys Today (overlooked classic - especially the hash fuelled second side) and Pet Sounds Never rated this band

AC/DC - Back in Black - All great songs - No shite

The Byrds - Tambourine Man - This is where all this indie stuff was spawned

Television - Marquee Moon - More birth of indie stuff. One of the greatest guitar albums ever made. Keep meaning to pick this up

Rush - Moving Pictures - 'Cos Cartman from Southpark likes it.

Tell me you own some of the above already.  I'll dispare of whippersnappers everywhere if you say "no".

Mine is better than Bassman's

The We Are Scientists album is a a bit pooer as Vic & Bob would say.

The Paradise Motel are good. As are Russian Spy Camera.

Please don't shoot me
I own around none, but shall begin downloading immediately

Forever Changes must be listened to in one go.  It would be wrong to stick a few tracks on an ipod.

Slart's right about "Forever Changes". The opening track "Alone Again Or..." is a belting song.

Add to the list:

"The Black Light" by Calexico

"The Dirty South" by The Drive-by Truckers

"Big Iron World" by Old Crow Medicine Show

"...and out come the wolves." by Rancid

"Energy" by Operation Ivy

"Master of Puppets" by Metallica (if Slart can have a thrash album, so can I)

you know, you know, if a feller named Monroe never fathered bluegrass
he would still be unrecognised as the grand wizard of speed metal

i love track 7 - "Maybe the People Would Be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale"

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

Saw Arthur Lee and Love play this album live on twice.  He was unhinged but they were good concerts.  The tickets said they would have an orchestra.  They had two blokes with trumpets and three chicks with violins.

Very apprehensive about this one, heard really bad things about them live, but shall give it a go nonetheless
