| Well the season is almost at an end and I for one am quite pleased with how it has gone. Sven and the team have definately exceeded my expectations comming from such a low starting point. Top 10 finish is a decent improvement for us and with some more cash some decent prospects comming through from the youth team and hopefully sven staying on we can look forward to next season.
Anyway I thought I would look at the deadwood that needs clearing out and there seems to be even more than last season :
Forwards
Rolando Bianchi
Bernardo Corradi
Paul Dickov
Emile Mpenza
Georgios Samaras
Darius Vassell (out of contract worth keeping but will probably want regular
football and a long and lucrative contract - probably go to west brom or similar)
Midfielders
Nery Castillo (Only on loan dosnt look good enough for prem)
Geovanni (Very handy player, I would keep but probably wants first team football - in spain)
Defenders
Javier Garrido (not up to the standard we require)
Matthew Mills (As above)
Danny Mills (As above)
Jihai Sun (As above)
Jeepers
Andreas Isaksson (Hart and casper both better and younger)
I make that 13 players. What do people think ? If we get rid of that lot their should be scope to bring in at least half a dozen decent players....We wont get much if any money for most of them but the wages must be huge ! |

| Would keep Garrido. You're pretty much spot on with most of them though. Geovanni definitely, i don't see what he adds to be honest. His goal against the rags will always be remembered, but apart from that he has added very little to our season. I would not be sad to see him go.

| Oh and i'd keep Vass as well. And Castillo, a handful of games played, and we have him 'til January, worth seeing what he can do next season.

| | Agree with most of that. We should keep hold of Vass as he puts in 100% effort, gives the oposition summat to think about and he's started to find the back of the net. Might be a good idea to hold onto Sun too, good player to have to plug holes. Would have liked to have seen a bit more of Geo, but I agree that he'll be off looking for regular footy. As for Casillio, he contracted to us until the end of December so he'll be staying until then.

| | If we were to clear 13 players out... we would need a whole lot more thank half a dozen coming in... Ok so the Mills twins, Bianchi, Dickov, Mpenza, Corradi and defo on their way out... the likes of Sun and Vass should be kept as squad cover... not 1st teamers but ppl available to cover in dire situatuons... also with Isaksson wanting to leave and Kasper makng noises about leaving too... we will likely need an experienced backup for Joe in goal If Sven does stay and goes for a left back... then will he let ball or garrido go... likely Ball just due to the age factor despite the fact he is a far better defensive left back than garrido. we need more cover in defence... Ned for all his potential has shocking luck with injuries and the last few weeks have proved how painfully thin our defensive cover is... Williamson coming in is also out of contract in the summer and the youth team products are not yet ready for 1st team action... with the possible exception maybe of the likes of Weiss who of course isn't a defender... so we need maybe one more right back and one more centre back as well as a left back. Midfield we need width desperately... Petrov is fine on the left but Stevie Ireland again proved yesterday he is better in 'the hole' than out on the right... Vass runs himself into the ground but is not a winger... so cover for Petrov and one right sided player please... Up front... we all know Sven and Thaksin both want at least one huge name.. .so defo one maybe 2 strikers coming in... so 1 goalie, 3 defenders, 2 or 3 midfielders and maybe 2 strikers coming in, thats 9 and maybe throw in a defensive midfielder enforcer type... a nice easy 10 coming in... there we go.. easy this management lark... if your playing fm that is... lol |

Has he played much...no. Last game he played he was outstanding. Scored in the reserves last time out and was on the bench yesterday. He has been injured, he also came to us unfit....give the guy a break he is world class. Other than that i agree with everyone else, maybe give Garrido a bit more time, good left peg.

Apparently Barca have been asking him about tips for the Manure game too!!

| I would definitely keep Castillo, Garrido and Geovanni.
None of them have been given enough playtime yet imho.

| | I'd like us to keep hold of Vassell and Geo, Vass gives 110% every time he plays and Geo is a talent who we have only seen in fits n spurts.Haven't see enough of Castillo to pass comment on but if he stays with us I'd like to see him feature next season. |
