ShitShitShit. Massively disappointed.
I expected Alex Turner (yes Bassy, of Arctic Monkeys, that band you love so much ) to turn out another class album, and, vocally, it isn't bad. His voice goes well with Miles Kane's.
Musically, the album is awful. The first album I was really looking forward to this year to let me down. Massively.
(I only downloaded it off Mininova though)

I'm quite looking forward to this. It's had some cracking reviews as well. I like the couple of songs i've heard ("Age of the Understatement" and "In My Room").

I quite like what I've heard off this. Much more original and interesting then Arctic Monkeys. Haven't heard The Rascals.

To be fair, i mentioned a couple of weeks ago that i quite liked what i'd heard of these.

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.
And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,
'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

Bought this today, just finished listening to it, and i've got to say Gibbi i completely disagree. I think it's a superb effort. It's so different to the Monkeys, yet it's still very Alex Turner. Really enjoyed it. I read a review, i think it was in Q, that said Turner's voice doesn't quite hit the heights of the songs. I can see what they mean, but it doesn't let him down, or detract from the quality. He and Miles Kane sound very similar as well.

Also, loving the album cover. I do love a good album cover.

I'm not saying it's not listenable, I just think I expected so much more.
I will end uo buying it, and I will end up loving it. Wasn't a great fan of the Arctics when they first emerged, and thought the second album was shite for about a month, so we'll see how it goes!
