| Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is considering quitting Manchester City to find regular first-team football. The 21-year-old made his debut this season and became Sven-Goran Eriksson's first choice but has now been overtaken by Joe Hart and Andreas Isakson. "I spoke to Sven last week and explained to him that I want to play first-team football," said Schmeichel. "He said that he can't promise me that, so if I am honest it looks like my future might not be at City." Schmeichel, the son of former Manchester United keeper Peter, played the first seven games of the Premier League season for City. But after losing his place in the first team he joined Cardiff on loan in September. Schmeichel returned to City in January and is now on loan at Coventry. The Dane joined City in 2002 and signed a new four-year deal last September, but could still leave Eastlands to further his career. "I have got three years left on a good contract so I could bide my time, but I am a footballer and I want to play," he said. "It is as simple as that. "The future is exciting. I could go anywhere in Europe to play my football: Spain, Italy or stay here in England. "I am looking forward to it but for now I am not thinking about that. I am a Coventry player at the moment and my job is to help Coventry to be safe." |

Agreed. This is becoming a habit, Beer. How long do you intend to continue talking sense?

| I'd heard rumours he was unhappy, but this is the first piece of concrete evidence I've seen. Would be a great loss, but I'd shake his hand and wish him all the best

| Hart is much better - he has the hieght advantage and is more composed when dealing with crosses and corners. Kasper will be a good keeper but I feel he will neveer be a greta keeper like his Dad. I thought Weaver was a better 2nd or 3rd choice keeper. Isaksson may also go in the summer......... he too wants regular 1st team football - warming the bench can't be doing his International career much good.

| | Would be a shame to see him go, but Hart has been the bright spark the second half of this season. Well done SP for buying him !!

| It would be a shame to see him go, I like the lad and I hope whatever he does he does well in it. He is a good 'keeper, but I can't help thinking wether my judgement on his ability is blurred by the surname and my respect for his fathers ability. He did well for us at the start, but i think he lacks the physical presence of Hart. Joe is a big lad (... waits for a comment!) and has much more presence on corners.
