Frank hasn't a clue about football.  He thinks if he throws some money around he'll win the Premiership and the Champions League.  The less interferance from the chairman the better.

Idiot chairment like Abromovich, the Americans at Liverpool, the fat imbecile at Newcastle and Frank will make major mistakes.

1 They will bring in the players they like and will negotiate with agents behind the managers back.

2 They will interfere in the style of play and insist on "exciting" football.

3 They will undermine the manager by leaking information or making statements to the media.

4 They will undermine the manager by holding secret talks with a replacment. These details will be leaked.

5 They are clearly on an ego trip.

Frank has already ticked some of the above boxes in less than a year.

Good chairmen trust the decision they have made in appointing the manager and will let him get on with the job. The average fan shouldn't even know who these guys are.

You beat me to it Benny.

I reread the interview, and like you don't think what he has said is too contentious.  The other day the club issued a statement rubbishing the Sven out rumours too. Alright, it's not clever making any sort of statement to the press, but weren't we all singing his name a few weeks ago-Spurs game anyone?

Benny (17/04/2008)

I do think we might be overreacting.  He said "we will assess the club and the people involved"-could mean players, need not mean Sven. Regarding players, he said "We'll probably have to sell some players and buy some new ones"-wouldn't everyone here agree with that?

That's what I meant about the cut 'n' shut of different questions, but it's definitely written as though it was in direct response to a question about Sven.  I want a statement from the club making it clear that it's been reported out of context if it was, leaving it doesn't do anyone at the club any favours.

The reporting does suggest that, and a statement would be nice.  I just feel it's press/sven stuff.  We had to figure we would get a lot of this with Sven, and tbf he has managed to keep them quiet through the year.

It's quite possible, they can't wait to stick the knife in.  Only time will tell, I suppose.

Hi Chaps,

Sorry - I usually lurk, but I thought I would briefly de-cloak in order to say how annoying this whole media-circus is. It seems that the press have simultaneously decided to pour grief on us, at a time when they should be singing our praises for helping to produce the next wave of British talent (I needed a magnifying glass to find stories about the FAYC this morning).

I for one agree with Benny and LabMonkey - I think its a slow news week, the Prem has pretty much been settled (except for the European places scraps ) and I think they just decided to pick on Sven. It will be interesting to see if he gives an interview on this weeks MCFC podcast....
