Agreed. We might even nick a Euro slot via the InterToto which would be a year ahead.

Sven has achieved what he set out to achieve - top 10 finish.

We have played soem great football this season and had some great wins.  The highest points tally since start of the Prem.  10 home wins in a row........................2 wins out of 2 against the rags........got to be given another year or 2, madness to ask him to leave.

The only reason I can see Sven going is if he has had a falling out with the Chairman or he has been asked to do things he isn't happy with (sign certain players, play certain players, play in a certain way etc).

Can't think of anyone else who could have achieved the same in such a short time - if he did go who would we get ? Allerdice...........no,no,no,no,no

C.T.I.D. (then some)

I have to say that I wasnt Svens biggest fan when he took over, but I was very surprised, by the start we had and the football we played. Its gone downhill since Christmas, but still a good season overall.

I think it would be stupid to Sack Sven, we cant keep the manager merry go round that we have seen at this club, we need to get some stability and build on this season. Rome was not built in a day and nor a decent Premiership team.

This does worry me though !!

Thaksin Shinawatra has stated that he will evaluate Sven Goran Eriksson's position at Manchester City at the end of the season.

Reports over the weekend claimed that the City owner and chairman had lost confidence in Eriksson following the team's poor recent results.

It was also suggested that Shinawatra was lining up Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari as a possible replacement.

Shinawatra has insisted that he has no immediate plans to fire the Swede, who was only appointed to the role last summer.

However, he admits he will assess Eriksson's performance when City's Premier League campaign is over.

Asked by reporters in Dubai whether Eriksson's job was in jeopardy, the former Thai prime minister said: "There are no plans at the moment.

"We will have to evaluate at the end of the season.

"I'm not happy with the performance of the club in the second half of the season.

"We will look at it at the end of the season and assess the club and the people involved."

Shinawatra also wants the City squad to be strengthened over the summer, adding: "We'll probably have to sell some players and buy some new ones.

"We need some defenders and midfielders. Midfielders are the key. We have some good players but we need more."

Manchester City made a strong start to the season but have slipped back to eighth and face an uphill battle to qualify for Europe

Franks a total dick, so are his advisers who thought it'd be fine for him to make his thoughts public. If they thought that in doing this the press wouldn't have a fucking field day Sven bashing then they know nowt about the British media. Maybe he thought that since the so called big four's dirty washing seems to be aired in public nowadays that we should 'compete'?

The club doesn't need this shite, Sven doesn't need it, the players don't need it and neither do we.

I hope every blue at the game on Sunday get behind Sven and show Dr Frank that he's got it wrong.

Totally counter-productive.  How is Sven supposed to get on with his job with this hanging over his head?

Would concur.  My "assume innocence" thing leads me to believe he's just not au fait with our press.  Hopefully this, and the reaction, will show him this isn't the way to do things.

I always feared that a twat like Frank wouldn't be happy unless he could stick his oar in.  Laughable attempts to buy Ronaldinho, attempts to bring over Thai "soccer stars" and now sack Sven.

Next Frank will want to pick the team and play himself as centre forward. Sven will walk out of the club if he isn't allowed to manage.
