| You have to apply just to audition? Blimey. Still, they have to pick out the really, really bad people to make laughing stocks of themselves on telly somehow

Do you really believe that? Surely at best you'll win and be considered bad for the music industry. At worst you'll be laughed at for being tone-deaf. Kind of a lose lose situation.

Kelly Clarkson's album sales are phenomanal as well, which might not be the judge of good music, but still undeniably a success. Quite right. Big Brother, X-Factor and all those shows are simple vehicles for us to point and laugh at the freaks. (No offence  ) They are the lowest common denominator.
